Welcome to Finance Faded!
I immigrated to Canada as an international student to study Ph.D. in economics. While my academic background gave me a solid understanding of macroeconomics and financial systems, I have to admit that my knowledge of personal finance was quite limited back then.
Like many newcomers, I had to navigate an entirely new financial system with its own rules and challenges. Even though I was disciplined when it came to investing, I made avoidable mistakes that cost me time and money—mistakes that could have been prevented with better financial literacy. Thankfully, I was able to overcome those setbacks, and the lessons I learned along the way have become a driving force in my life.
This journey inspired me to create Finance Faded: a space dedicated to helping new immigrants and beginners get on their feet financially, even when starting from scratch. My goal is to share practical advice, tools, and economic insights to help you better understand your finances and build a strong foundation for your future.
Over the years, my passion for financial education has only grown stronger. I write about a wide range of topics, including saving, investing, the Canadian retirement system, and avoiding common financial mistakes. I strive to make these complex subjects easy to understand, using a fact-based and rigorous approach.
Beyond this blog, I am active on social media and have even hosted free training sessions on stock market investing. I firmly believe that with the right knowledge and a bit of discipline, anyone can achieve their financial goals.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I hope Finance Faded can inspire, guide, and help you carve your own path toward financial success.
